Migraine

Migraine is a chronic neurological condition affecting over 10 million people in the UK each year. Despite the availability of treatments, many people continue to experience frequent and severe migraine attacks that significantly impact daily life.

We are currently recruiting volunteers for migraine clinical trials in the UK. These migraine research trials are designed to evaluate new treatment approaches, including potential migraine drug therapies, under strict medical and ethical standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand you may have questions about participating in our clinical trial. Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive from potential participants. For more information, visit our full FAQs page or browse our Information Hub.

Why are migraine trials important?
Clinical trials are essential for developing better treatments for patients with chronic migraine. Current migraine preventive medications don’t help everyone, leaving many people struggling with frequent migraine days. Our double blind clinical studies help identify new acute treatment options and prevention of migraine approaches. Study participants contribute valuable information that could benefit millions of adolescents with migraine and adults worldwide.
We’re seeking people with at least 4 migraine attacks per month. This frequency indicates significant impact on your life and suggests you could benefit from new treatments being studied. Your migraine days should typically involve attacks lasting 4-72 hours when untreated. Whether you experience episodic migraine or more chronic patterns, you may still qualify for our migraine headache clinical trial.
Yes, we need participants whose migraines started before age 50. This helps ensure we’re studying consistent migraine patterns in our adult migraine clinical trial research. While we focus on adults 18 years and older, understanding how treatments work across different age groups – including research on children and adolescents – is important for developing comprehensive migraine preventive strategies.
You need at least one year of established migraine history. This timeframe ensures you have a clear pattern of migraine attacks rather than occasional headaches. One year represents many episodes and gives you experience recognising your typical symptoms, whether migraine with or without aura. This knowledge helps our healthcare professional assess how treatments affect your migraine days during the study.
