Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic disease in which the immune system becomes overactive, causing skin cells to multiply too quickly. Patches of skin become scaly and inflamed, most often on the scalp, elbows, or knees, but other parts of the body can be affected as well.

Psoriasis is a relatively common skin condition affecting around 60 million people worldwide, with 1.52% of the population in the UK.

There’s no cure for psoriasis. But there are lots of treatments that may help to control your symptoms. You may need to try different ones to find what works best for you.

If you have moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, you might be eligible for a clinical trial.

To enrol on a Psoriasis clinical trial or learn more about participating, please fill in the form below and we will be in touch. Alternatively, please call our team on 03300 575 838.

Participating in our psoriasis clinical studies involves regular visits to our research facility in Ilford or Swinton. During these visits, you’ll receive comprehensive medical assessments, including skin evaluations, psoriasis severity assessments, and general health checks. The trial typically includes an initial screening period, followed by the main study period where you may receive either the investigational treatment or a placebo. You’ll maintain a symptom diary throughout the trial, and our team will provide all necessary equipment and training. Most trials run for several months, with visit frequency varying by study. You’ll always be fully informed about what each visit involves, and your safety is our absolute priority.
We do not provide payment for participation in our clinical trials for psoriasis in UK. However, we may provide reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses to and from our Ilford research facility.
